Morton Group has moved into a new office space at Regent Centre, Gosforth, as part of the company’s plans for expansion.

In under 18 months, staff numbers at the Morton Group headquarters, now based in Arden House, rose from five in May 2018 to 15 as of September 2019.

In addition, both Kapex Construction and Lok Developments have also taken on new recruits in their operational, commercial and development teams, with plans for further staff appointments in 2020.

The new workspace, renovated in-house by Kapex Construction, can accommodate 24 staff members, and comes with two meeting rooms, a refreshed kitchen/dining area and a breakout space to encourage further collaboration across the three project delivery companies which make up the wider Morton Group.

And Gary Morton, Group CEO, has already made plans to extend the space further.

He said: “We have an option agreement with Omnia Estates to renovate and occupy further office space on the same floor which will double our staff capacity.

“With the way things are going, there is no doubt we will need the extra space by spring 2020, so we already have the team working on it.

“The new premises in Arden House grants us the necessary space to continue the growth of Morton Group during this exciting time.”

With help from interior designer Karen Nairstone, Director at Studio KIND, the workspace was completely revamped to create a modern, slick design which includes stripped back concrete, black walls and exposed brickwork.

The final pieces of furniture are yet to be installed. These include a former aeroplane wing, converted into a boardroom table, and former aeroplane seats for the communal areas.
